I love teaching sewing! It has been so much fun watching young girls (and a momma too!) learn to sew. One of my students finished a project, laid it out on the table and said "let's just look at it and admire it for a minute!" I just about burst with pride, when one of my students wore her skirt to church. She was the narrator for the Primary Program so everyone saw what a fantastic job she did! It is humbling to see my students unselfishly make things for their family. One happy daddy got P.J. pants for his birthday. Thank you, Thank you students and families for sharing with me your joy as you learn!

The Beginning!

I am excited to get started in the blogging world. When I was little I loved to play school. When I got married and had children I learned to love sewing. I decided to combine the two! I also enjoy handwork. My grandma taught me how to crochet when I was a senior in high school. That started me on a path of, learning and loving, fiber related arts. I have added to my knowledge of crocheting, first with spinning my own yarn. Then, I thought I have this gorgeous yarn, I should learn how to knit so I can make beautiful sweaters and such. Then out of the blue I was offered a floor loom (still putting it together). I did take weaving lessons though. Along the way, I have learned how to make battenburg lace, and even some tatting. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and helping others to enjoy the things that bring me such joy!
